Heat flow calculations.

We need to determine how much heating to install in the new rooms. This is done by measuring the area of each room and the amount of wall space covered by windows.

We have very little wall space in the kitchen for baseboard heaters , and limited wall space in the large room. To add to the problem we have 30 feet of windows looking out at the lake.

In the kitchen we plane to use an under counter heater called a 'toester' . I'm not sure what we will do in the big room.

The heated floors in the Manchester Frank Lloyd Wright house needed to be replaced because the builder used the wrong material (steel vs copper).

Recently a large number of heated foors have been replaced because the plastic pipes that were used leaked. (another wrong material)

I am planing to using copper, and under the floor fan driven heat exchange units.

Was that the Zimmerman home? I visited that in high school--we had to wear socks and booties walking on the floor, and the heat felt great in the winter! Can you imagine the pain of tearing out and changing those pipes?

I take that back; given your sewer experiences, I'm sure you can imagine the pain...
