More progress on the new sewing room.

The floor is completely installed, and the frame to the murphy bed has arrived. The bed still needs to be assembled.

Bordello bathtub.

Our new bathtub has been installed, Linda likes to call it the bordello bathtub. We need some curtains in the bathroom, before I try it.

Three feet of floor installed.

Last night I got 3 feet of new flooring installed in the old kitchen, I should be done in a couple more days.

Progress on the old bathroom.

I got a new pedestal sink and lights installed this weekend. We are almost done with the old bathroom. We need a cabinet over the sink, a vent in the ceiling and paint.

Saga of the bathroom sinks.

We have bathroom sink issues. We ordered a slate counter for the new bathroom sink. The counter showed up after 3 months, but the counter was the wrong color (gray/black instead of jade green). We are going to use plywood as a temporary counter, so we can get a sink installed, and then start looking for another counter.

Dick has been working on the old section of the house, and before he completes the new sewing room, we need to clean up the old bathroom plumbing and wiring. I can cut holes in the wall of the sewing room to get to the back side of the bathroom walls and I can make changes in the plumbing and wiring with out damaging the old bathroom tile. The first thing we needed to do is remove the old lights and old sink. So we are currently brushing our teeth in the kitchen sink.

As a side note, when I was working in the old bathroom, I noticed that the old toilet was not shutting off, I will repair the toilet this weekend.

Window over the garage door.

Dick built and installed the window over the garage door. Originally we were going to have the window divided into four section with a board down the middle of the window, but that would block the star light. So Dick divided the window into thirds. The vertical boards in the window are slightly tapered for artistic appeal. I'm not sure I can see the taper.

Look at more wildlife in Lunenburg.

Linda got a picture of another large bird in the viewing tree. It looks a lot like a bald eagle to me, but I didn't believe her when she called to tell me what she saw.

Another door to paint.

Yesterday when I got home from work I found a new door in the garage. Dick built the door just for this location, complete with stained glass. Now I have nine new doors to paint and five old doors to paint.

Door from the front deck.

Door from inside of the garage.

Garage lighting.

This post is for Arron., because he likes the garage.

We added a star light to the garage. We found the star light on one of the trips to Martha's Vineyard years ago. We bought the light, because it was similar to the dining room light at the big house on the cape. The light lived in the camp in New Hampshire until we sold that house.

So Arron, we now have a chandelier in the garage.

Updated front of house picture.

All of the trim on the outside of the house has been painted. This weekend I finally removed the pile of trash that was growing outside of the garage. The garage doors have been ordered , the doors should be delieved before it snows (11/04/06). I decided to install the doors myself, I was too cheap to pay someone else to install them.

Old bedroom, new molding.

The old bedroom (there was only one bedroom in the house when we started) got new molding to match the rest of the house. We are almost ready to start painting again. It seems like we just stopped painting.

The new lights are installed.

We have lights, we have been waiting for the lights to show up, and then for Peter the electrician to install them. The lights came from a company in California. It is very easy to go overboard on the cost of lighting fixtures. The light we got were reasonability priced and we liked the style.
