Installing Bluebird Houses.

Rich gave us two bluebird houses for Christmas. I just got them installed today. I hope that I got them outside soon enough for the birds to find them. It still looks like winter here.

Bears comming out of hibernation.

I had a collection of bears that used to live at the house in Deering. They have been hibernating in a number of blue plastic buckets in the basememt. Spring is comming, so they came out of hibernation and have taken up resident in the Whalom house. The bears are designed by a Montana artist Jeff Flemming.

Yellowstone Snow Travel.

Almost all of the roads in Yellowstone are covered with snow for the winter. Only over snow vehicles are allowed on the roads. The yellow snow coach met our bus at Flag Ranch to take us into Old Faithful. The snow coach is made by Bombardier, the drivers called them Bombs. They travel in packs, because they break down a lot.

The next vehicle is the snowmobile. On our second day in Yellowstone we traveled over 100 miles by snowmobile from Old Faithful Snow Lodge to Mammoth Hot Springs. Then we spent the night at the Mammoth Hot Springs Lodge. On the third day we traveled 50 miles back to Old Faithful.
Here is another over snow vehicles. We were told to take a seat in the front of the van if you ride in one of these, because the back seats tend to bounce.

The stools are done.

I finished up the stools this weekend. This will give us two more seats when folks come to visit.
The stools match the woodwork, I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not.
