Vacation in the Keys

Linda and I were on vacation last week. We went to the Florida Keys. The first stop was Key West.
The next stop was Fort Jeffersion at the Dry Tortugas National Park.

And we spent a lot of time eating out and watching the sunset. Here is the view from our favorite bar in Key Largo.

New Rug

This past weekend, my sisters, my brothers and myself worked to clean out mother's house. One of the things that I got from the clean-out was an odd shaped rug. I had had my eye on this rug, because it was just the right size for the kitchen. We still need to get it cleaned and get a new pad for it, but I like it. (not sure if Linda likes it)

Ice Storm Cleanup

Last December, before Christ mass, we had an ice storm that took out our power for 12 days. During the power outage, we had 3 snow storms. The snow cover all of the downed tree branches and the branches were still covered with snow until the last week or two. Now we need to deal with piles to sticks and branches. I have started to make piles in the front yard.


But the yard by the lake is going to be a mess for a while. The ground is still covered with snow, and when the snow melts, there will be mud.

Weekend Visitors

I invited my sister and brother-and-law down for a night. My sister was concerned that we has such a small house that we would no have room for them to stay. After her comment, I realized that I haven't had many pictures of the old section of the house.

Here is a picture of the guest bedroom, you will need to give us a litte notice, so we can clean off the bed, and take down the grand child's bed.

Here is the guest bathroom, complete with a bear that watches you pee (as Marie says). We kept the bathroom and the bedroom almost unchanged from when we moved in. We did update the windows, and trim in both rooms.
